This costume piece was made for a high school production of Midsummer Night's Dream. The donkey head is primarily made from a bike helmet, papier-mâché, and felt. The general shape was blocked out using plastic bags and tape on top of the helmet. Papier-mâché was then placed on top of this form followed by the felt. Wire frames and felt "socks" were made for the ears. Ping pong balls make up the eyes and fur was used for additional details. Airbrushing was used to accentuate shadows.
